Hairstylist Volunteer

Our Pine Villa transitional care unit is looking for volunteers with hair cutting skills who are willing to donate their services to seniors living in our transitional care facility. The timing is flexible; however, volunteers would be needed on a monthly basis for around 3 to 4 hours a month (in the morning or afternoon). Volunteers will bring their own haircutting equipment.

Musical Volunteers for Downtown Long-Term Care Home

Do you like to play music or sing? We are looking for volunteers to play the piano, and other instruments and/or sing for our residents a the Rekai Centre – Sherbourne Place!

Day Program Volunteer

Volunteers will be working alongside our day program staff to help older adults independently and together in a group setting.

Volunteer mentor

1Up Single Parent Resource Centre, Moms and Mentors program needs volunteer female mentors with parenting experience to offer support and guidance to isolated single mothers of all ages. As a volunteer mentor, you will be matched with a single mom and her children for a one-on-one match. Matched pairs spend about two hours per week together: discussing parenting issues, working on personal goals, going for coffee or walks, and enjoying fun activities.

Long Term Care Volunteer Opportunities

The Rekai Centres, a non-profit, charitable corporation owns and operates two Long-Term Care Homes in downtown Toronto. The Rekai Centres strive to enrich the lives of their residents by transforming its long-term care model, ensuring that they remain part of their downtown community. We are looking for volunteers who can dedicate their time to engage with our residents.

Service Program Assistant Volunteer

Volunteers will be working alongside our CIA staff to help inform older adults of the different community services, benefits, and housing options that are available to them.

Private Sponsorship Volunteer

Settlement teams are responsible for a variety of tasks in advance of, and after the arrival of the newcomer(s) they support. This can include support related to fundraising, securing housing, government paperwork, researching services, welcoming the newcomer(s), and supporting them through a major transitional process. Teams are not asked to provide any of their own funds, and no resettlement experience is required.

The volunteer position is a one on one match with a person who has an intellectual disability.
