Canadian Institute of Planners

Located in downtown Ottawa, CIP is a member-based organization that has served as the national voice of Canada’s planning community since 1919. We work on behalf of over 7,500 planning professionals and students, who are involved in today’s important issues such as climate change, healthy communities, housing, and what it means to encourage Truth and Reconciliation in our communities. As such, our staff team is involved in supporting and empowering planners in these priority areas, and engaging our members in national projects and conversations towards creating inclusive, flourishing, and sustainable communities across Canada.
